Pest of the Month - Raccoons
If you hear noise in your attic at night or see a small creature peeking in your glass sliding door it just might be a raccoon. Raccoons are common in Marin and will forage on most anything and can cause severe damage. Their broods of 4-6 babies typically are born in April. Some simple precautions are wise: keep pet food secure, keep garbage cans secure by locking or tying to a sturdy post, eliminate nesting areas such as wood piles. Raccoons can be dangerous so elimination for severe problems is best left to professionals. For more information, see the
Pest Note.
