Program: The word is out...herbs are in! Learn how to grow your own herbs and add unique depth of flavor and a variety of nutrients to countless foods and beverages to spice up your home cooking. Anne-Marie Walker will talk about the cultivation, propagation, harvest, preservation, and uses of herbs as well as seasons in which they grow, the pollinators they attract and how to develop your herb garden sustainably including water use. Explore using culinary herbs in vinegars, oils, bitters and salves to soothe the skin. She will even share recipes so you can use your fresh bounty to make gifts from the garden to share with friends and family.

Speaker: Anne-Marie Walker is a lifelong gardener and long-time UC Marin Master Gardener that has been certified by the University of California as a trainer for Sustainable Landscapes, has attended further training at the UC Arboretum and Public Garden at UC Davis, founded a UC award-winning program teaching third and fourth grade students about edible gardening and chaired a public garden maintained by UC Marin Master Gardeners. In addition, Anne-Marie has held positions in the UC Marin Master Gardeners organization and serves on Belvedere’s Parks and Open Space Committee
