The Program: Join us and learn how using California native plants in your garden can help Marin recover from the loss of native habitats due to development. Because these plants have co-evolved with native birds, butterflies, bees, other beneficial insects and mammals, planting natives in your garden helps maintain these populations.
By using native plants, you can build a beautiful, sustainable landscape using less water and fewer chemical fertilizers and pesticides. There are thousands of native California plants and Marin County's Mediterranean climate is the perfect place for many of them.
The Speaker: Bob Mauceli is an active Marin Master Gardener since 2014, His home is located on a north Novato hillside with an established grove of Tuscan olive trees and landscape of native trees, shrubs, ground covers and perennials. Bob is also a member of the California Native Plant Society, and is a birder.
