Description and Cultural Plant Tips
This bushy full-branched perennial is covered with bright yellow flowers throughout the summer into fall. The deep green foliage is a perfect foil for the profusion of blooms. The long straight stems make the flowers ideal for bouquets. The size of this Coreopsis makes it a good plant for the front of a border. Looks good in front of blue Scabiosas, Gentian Sage, Agastache 'Apricot Sunrise', or a red Salvia greggii.
This plant does best in sunny, rather dry conditions. Plant slightly above grade in well-drained soil. Can get leggy in an overcrowded or overwatered garden. May die in winter if soil drainage is poor. Shear off to basal foliage when plant needs deadheading for a tighter rebloom clump.
Favorite of bees and other pollinators.
Free of pests and diseases if planted in a sunny, well-drained spot.
Master Gardener Comments
The intensity of semi-double and full-double golden flowers and sheer number produced is awesome! Very easy to grow with maximum payback.
