Description and Cultural Plant Tips

This is a semi-training mounding clump perennial that can be used as a groundcover. It is a lovely plant composed of delicate greens, creams and lavenders. The flowers are quite lovely in summer and fall. It can mound to over a foot tall when happy but generally will creep along the ground with a 6"- 8" height. Looks good cascading over rock ledges or the side of planters.

This plant needs excellent drainage so plant slightly above soil grade. In our mild winters it doesn't actually die back until winters end or when new growth appears. All old growth should be cut back when new growth appears. Fertilize at that time with a complete organic fertilizer.

Master Gardener Comments

This is one of my favorite plants. It looks so delicate but is really a tough, drought tolerant plant that looks great tumbling down a rock surface.
