Title: “Pruning Fruit Trees in Winter”

The Program:  Join us and learn why fruit trees are pruned in the winter and the specific pruning cuts for fruit trees. Additionally, learn how and why different fruit trees are pruned, based on their fruit bearing properties. Learn how winter pruning can improve a fruit tree’s health and its fruit production. This is a
one-hour presentation followed by a 30-minute demonstration in the school garden.

The workshop is cancelled if it rains.

The Speaker: Susan Pearson and Laura Colvin are Marin Master Gardener Pruning Guild, Journeyman pruners. They have two years of extensive lecture and hands-on training from certified pruners. While continuing to gain pruning knowledge and skills from experts, they are now mentors to new Pruning Guild members. Susan Pearson has owned and operated a commercial orchard.
