The Program: This workshop covers the basics of citrus physiology and care; including why certain citrus cultivars grow well in Marin and others do not, proper planting, pruning, irrigation, soil and drainage requirements. This workshop also offers an in-depth look at some common citrus tree problems including fruit drop, nutrient deficiencies, leaf scorch, pests and diseases – including some of the issues we have yet to face in Marin, like Asian citrus psyllid and huanglongbing disease.
The Speaker: Steven Swain, is the UCCE Environmental Horticulture Advisor for Marin and Sonoma Counties He is an expert in management of both ornamental and edible landscapes, plant pathology, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Steven is an engaging speaker and an agricultural IVOF&G advisor.
