Event Details

Location: Meet at Blackie’s pasture off Tiburon Blvd, near the entrance to the Tiburon’s multi-use path by Harvey’s Garden, across from the paved parking lot.

The Program:  Do you enjoy hiking trails? Do you like puzzles? Then this activity is for you! Join UC Marin Master Gardener Kam Shadan as he leads a trail hike from Harvey's Garden at Blackie's Pasture to the top of Ring Mountain and back down through Trestle Glen. A plant puzzle handout is given to each participant; you will find the answers to the puzzle through your observations during the hike.

Participants need to be comfortable and able to hike hills. Wear layered clothing, hiking shoes with good traction, and bring water. There are no facilities on the hiking trail; the only facilities are the restrooms at Blackie’s pasture. There is a steep uphill stretch for about 20 minutes on this hike.

The hike may be cancelled if the ground is wet due to recent rain or if the Saturday night forecast predicts rain on Sunday morning.

The Speaker: Kam Shadan is a UC Marin Master Gardener graduate from the class of 2017. Having lived and explored the outdoors in Marin, especially Tiburon, for more than four decades Kam has gained knowledge of the area’s natural environment including Ring Mountain, Mount Tamalpais and Angel Island. His volunteer work includes certification as an Angel Island State Park docent. Kam enjoys learning and educating about Marin County's natural environment through outdoor activities.

Cost:  None
