  • Description and Cultural Plant Tips

This species of Convolvulus grows into an evergreen shrub that is best known for its silvery-green, silky smooth foliage. It produces large white flowers from late spring throught summer.  It is heat and drought tolerant and can be used to line walkways, driveways, patios, and hot walls. It also looks good in the front of a drought tolerant shrub border

Plant slightly above grade in well-drained soils. Needs no amendments and is not particular about soil type. Too much fertilizer or water will cause plant to become floppy and weak. Plant in the fall to take advantage of winter rains. This plant has a symmetrical shape and does not need regular pruning. Prune lightly in the fall if plant becomes leggy or overgrown. Can tolerate some shade but plant shape will be looser and flowers will not open completely.

Draws bees and other nectar loving insects.

This plant is suceptible to root rot and other fungal diseases if watered too much or has been planted in area with poor drainage. No other serious pests or diseases.
