    Virtually no pests or diseases. There is a beautiful specimen at Copia in Napa

    Native to Sicily. In the verbena family.

     

  • Master Gardener Comments

    Blooms on new growth. Cut back in winter to shape. Tolerates clay soil and ignored by deer.  If you have adequate moisture it blooms again in the summer after light pruning.  Apply 12-6-6 fertilizer, slow release.

    ‘Latifolia’ has broader leaves,’ Silver Spire’ and ‘Alba’ have white flowers and ‘Rosea’ has pink flowers.
