  • Description and Cultural Plant Tips

Large semi-shrub with yellow daisy-like flowers. A strong lemony fragrance from the finely divided leaves is released when rubbed or brushed against.

Plant slightly above soil grade. Will tolerate alkaline soils. Drought tolerant near coast but looks best with some irrigation. Will take some shade but gets leggy if in too much shade. Frost tender  but will rebound quickly. Maintenance is low. Trim back after major flower flush to keep this plant looking good.

Butterflies and bees love this plant. Most deer hate the smell and leave it alone.

No serious pest or diseases problems.

  • Master Gardener Comments

This plant looks good at the back of a perennial border. Blooms most of the year and looks great with the purple and blue salvias (Gentian salvia & Black & Blue salvia)
