Description and Cultural Plant Tips
H. moseranum is an evergreen/semi-evergreen, mounding shrub with arching, reddish branches and clusters of 2.5 inch across golden yellow flowers. In most of Marin this is an evergreen plant but in areas where freezing temperatures occur it may die back to the ground but will regrow from the roots. It can be used in a shrub or perennial border , along a fence or in a container.
Plant slightly above soil grade in average soil. Adding compost will help aerate the soil and add nutrients which will improve the health and bloom capacity of this shrub. Plant in full sun along the coast but in light afternoon shade in the hotter parts of Marin. Can withstand drought-like conditions but looks better with some summer water.
Bees enjoy the nectar from this shrub.
No serious pests or diseases.
