Description and Cultural Plant Tips
The 'Azurea' variety is a little smaller than the species with beautiful 3/4 inch lavender blue flowers and silver-gray foliage. This shub can be made into a hedge, or used in a sunny shrub border as a backdrop to its smaller relative T. Chaemaedrys which as dark green leaves and is about a foot tall. This plant will tolerate hot sun, reflected heat and drought.
Plant slightly above soil grade in a location with good drainage. Needs full sun to really reach full potential. Responds well to shearing and is often used to form small compact hedges in knot gardens.
This shrub is a favorite of bees.
No serious pests or diseases
