Event Details

“Exploring Plant Life on Ring Mountain – Eastside Loop”

The Program: Do you enjoy hiking trails? Do you like puzzles? Then this activity is for you! Join UC Marin Master Gardener Kam Shadan as he leads a trail hike from the gate to Phyllis Ellman in Corte Madera to Turtle Rock at the top of Ring Mountain (elevation 460 ft) and back down through the loop. A plant puzzle handout is given to each participant; you will find the answers to the puzzle through your observations during the hike. Be prepared to hike hills; wear layered clothing, hiking shoes with good traction, and bring water. There are no facilities on the hiking trail.

Directions to the beginning of the hike (at the North access gate to Phyllis Ellan Trail on Paradise Drive, Tiburon): From Hwy 101 in Corte Madera, take the exit for Tamalpais Drive East. Go straight onto San Clemente, which merges into Paradise Drive after 0.4 miles. Follow Paradise Drive approximately one mile (go past Westward Drive). The North access gate is on the right.
