Event Details

The Program: Join us and unravel the mystery of growing garlic and onions! Shop in a market and you may find one or two kinds of garlic; onion varieties are frequently just as limited. But, if you grow your own alliums you open the door to new flavors, shapes, colors and culinary uses of these savory vegetables. We will discuss the best cultural practices for growing these cool season gems in your garden and how keep them producing for months.

The Speakers: Jenine Stilson became a UC Marin Master Garden in 2014. She has been co-leader of the Edibles Guild for the last three years and is a life-long gardener of edibles. She's a contributing writer for Backyard to Belly and has presented at the Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden as well as various school gardens.

Laura Colvin became a UC Master Gardener in 2014. She grew up in a family of gardeners, and she has continued the tradition focusing on edibles.
