The Program: Planning and planting for the fall-winter vegetable garden is important. This class will answer your questions as to how and when to harvest summer crops, how to prepare the soil for planting either seeds or starts for your fall-winter garden, and using seed trays for starting seeds while your garden is still at full bloom. Critical to this process is understanding what varieties of vegetables do well in the winter, what varieties can be started early, or varieties that must be planted by seed in the garden bed after the summer harvest.
The Speaker: Joe Jennings, a Marin Master Gardener since 2012 and Larkspur resident has vegetable gardens in Larkspur and Tiburon-Belvedere. He is also a MMG Gardening Class lecturer on tomatoes, year round vegetables, container vegetables, and citrus trees.
