Event Details

The Program: Autumn is the ideal time to cultivate your perennial garden. This hands-on workshop offers a full introduction to seasonal propagation techniques in asexual propagation for organic gardeners and will review several methods of doing plant division, plant strikes, as well as a look at bulbs and rhizomes. This workshop includes a short lecture, followed by a few demonstrations, and an opportunity to practice some of those techniques in the IVOF&G perennial garden. Participants will not only take home a wealth of information but plant material from the lab part of this course.
Please come with sharp pruning shears, good garden gloves, long pants, and most
importantly ankle-high boots. No open toe shoes or heels, please.

The Speaker: Vic Stavig studied Environmental Landscaping with the first class that
started the IVOF&G. This is where she found her passion for propagation under the
mentorship of Wendy Johnson, former Instructor of the IVC Farm Class. Vic is now
employed at the farm assisting with daily operations, the greenhouse, and shade-house
production.

Cost: $10.00
